Cancellation
Good day, I app**** for a Black Friday Special on the iPhone 12, with a total of R399.00*36, and added insurance for R599.00. The device was delivered on November 14th. Unfortunately, I noticed a debit of R288.00 on November 19th from Vodacom, which caused my bank to charge me R25.00 for a bounced debit order due to insufficient funds. On November 20th, I contacted the call center and spoke to a consultant who informed me that the fee was a pro-rata charge that Vodacom debits 28 to 72 hours after delivery. I was unaware of this policy. The agent assured me that she would escalate the issue to the Billing Department to dispute the payment and prevent any additional penalties since I was not informed about the debit. She scheduled a callback for Saturday, November 23rd, at 10 am, but I did not receive a call. Frustrated with Vodacom, I decided to cancel the contract. The agent I spoke to confirmed that she had escalated the cancellation and that I would receive an SMS and email with my reference number. However, I did not receive any communication. I waited several days for the device to be collected, but when nothing happened, I called again on November 21st. Another agent assured me that collection was logged and that I should wait, but despite requesting confirmation via email, I received nothing. Finally, I spoke to a very helpful agent who honestly told me that the collection had never been logged. She took the initiative to log it, and the device was collected on Monday, November 25th. I was also debited an amount of R389.00 on November 29th which I know nothing about. I assumed everything was resolved and planned to confirm the cancellation shortly after. However, this morning I received invoices from Vodacom for a device that has already been collected. I do not have R600.00 available. Please ensure that this contract is fully cancelled, including the device and insurance, and that no further debits are made from my account. Warm regards,
I missed a call from Vodacom yesterday; they only called once, and the agent left a voicemail stating that she would call me back later in the day. However, I have not received any contact since then. Could I please get an email confirmation that this contract has been canceled and that no further debits will be made to my account?
Thank you!

Please refrain from closing the tickets before I have the opportunity to respond. As far as I understand, a ticket should only be considered resolved or closed once the query has been fully addressed, which, in this case, has not happened.
Yesterday, I visited Vodacom to inquire further about my refund since I hadn’t received any responses to my emails. The representative at the store informed me that I need to go to the bank to obtain a bank confirmation letter and then return to the store with my ID before she can assist with logging the refund. However, I received an email stating that the refund will be processed in my account within 7 to 14 working days, which contradicts what I was told in the store.Additionally, you did not request my banking details, so I need clarification: will the money be refunded to the same account from which you were debiting? I was advised that the funds would be credited to my Vodacom account. If that is the case, please do not proceed with that, as I do not have an account with Vodacom and do not want the funds credited there. The refund needs to be processed to my normal standard bank account as soon as possible. The 7-14 day waiting period is unacceptable, especially since I have been reaching out since November of last year regarding these issues, and the response time has been incredibly slow.
