Canceling your contract puts you in a life or death situation

I canceled my contract with Vodacom after settling the outstanding amount. I then got an SMS that the cancellation will be processed and ever since I haven't had access to making phone calls. I can't even call the Vodacom customer care number. I can't place any emergency calls. How the hell am I supposed to get this resolved if I can't even contact customer care? What if I am involved in an emergency situation - will my options be to find someone around me or death? How does this even happen? I need you to unlock my phone - I cancelled my contract and paid everything that was required as per the invoice you had sent me!
