Canceling home fiber

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with Vodacom Regarding my Home Internet Fire service. When I signed up for this service, it was explicitly sold to me as a month-to-month contract, which I chose specifically for the flexibility to cancel at any time. I have now attempted to cancel the service, only to be told by your consultants that I am tied into a 12-month contract. This is a direct contradiction of the agreement I entered into. The Facts: refNumber:SR*** Sign-up Date: 16/12/2025

Issue: I was informed that I cannot cancel without penalties or that my contract only expires in 12 months, despite the "month-to-month" marketing.

Consumer Rights:

According to the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), I have the right to transparent information. If this was a month-to-month agreement, I should be able to cancel with a notice. Vodacom is claiming I owe money for a router and this was not made clear as a fixed-term commitment at the point of sale.

Required Resolution:

Immediate processing of my cancellation request. Waiver of any "early cancellation" fees that apply to fixed-term contracts, as I am not on one. Confirmation in writing that my account will be closed at the end of the month. I look forward to a prompt response before I escalate this matter to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO).
