Can Vodacom service be this feeble?
<p>28 Dec - check roaming rates for Canada both contract and pre-paid on www.vodacom.co.za and ask to change to pre-paid<br />29th Dec emailed Vodacom twice to say that I was in Canada, would not be available to RICA and it was important that I do not lose service.<br />On the 30th Vodacom confirmed that I would have to re-RICA and I responded clearly indicating that I cannot have a break in service with</p> <p>"As per my letter and previous email I am out of the country until March. It is impractical for me to return from Canada to facilitate a package change.</p> <p>I will be able to re-RICA the SIM on my return in March. Please confirm that this will not cause a break in service or provide an alternative."</p> <p>31 Dec the package was changed despite my clear instructions my service stopped working<br />01 Jan - no answer from the helpline and I emailed Vodacom to ask for the service to be reinstated.<br />02 Jan after 40min of talking on an international call to your help line I was told that I need to talk to Vodacom business as the SIM is registered to my company and they will only be there on the 3rd<br />02 Jan - email Vodacom business asking for help, explaining clearly again that I am in Canada.<br />03 Jan - Rachel informs me that someone from the company can re-RICA the SIM once they open.<br />09 Jan - The company opens and staff re-RICA the phone immediately<br />10 Jan - The phone is still not working and the help line says that it is RICA registered and roaming is active<br />10 Jan - email Vodacom business and ask for help explaining again.<br />11 Jan - Vodacom says "Canada does not have a prepaid roaming agreement with Vodacom"<br />11 Jan - email Vodacom again pleading for help and showing the page on the Vodacom website that quotes the pre-paid roaming rates for Canada.<br />Silence from Vodacom.</p> <p>17 Jan - email again pleading for assistance</p> <p>Silence from Vodacom</p> <p>20 - Jan Review in Hello Peter</p> <p> </p> <p>My clients need to contact me on that number, I need it for bank OTPs and I can't change the number at the bank while abroad. Vodacom may claim to be responding by posting the same form resonse to each complaint but that is as far as it has gone, 3 days later and nothing other than a spurious claim from Vodacom that I will be contacted.
