Can Vodacom get any worse
I have been a Vodacom client for many years. I recently concluded a upgrade online and was satisfied with the service. I changed my contract from a uchoose flexi 200 to a uchoose more data 2 gig (going from paying R200 a month to R650 a month) in order to qualify for a better phone. The upgrade was processed and I was told I would receive the phone in 2 working days, this was confirmed by their confirmations department. I received the phone a week and a half later. This weekend my debit order goes off as well as an additional amount of R2100, I immediately phone the call center both accounts and upgrades where closed and only open on Wednesday at 8am, the lady on the other side tried her best to explain the reason but it made no sense (her reason was that I couldn't afford the phone and so Vodacom billed me R2100 in order for me to qualify). I received a call back this morning and was transferred to the upgrades department they couldn't help me and I was transferred to the accounts department. They confirmed that it was an amount charged for 2 devices, when I ask if I could speak to someone more senior she said I couldn't and that the only thing she could do was to escalate it on her side and that I would receive an answer within 7 working days. This is completely unacceptable, you have basically taken money from my account without my consent or knowledge, money which I have not budgeted for and now you expect me to wait another 7 working days. To top it all off, Vodacom proudly states that when upgrading online there are no admin delivery fees and you get a sim delivered with your device. I am now being charged for a upgrade fee as well and I never received a sim. I had to go in store to get the correct sim for my phone.
I want my money back or my contract cancelled at no extra fees.
Please sort this out now.
