Call for Class action suit request for grievances against Vodacom.
I have a data bundle of 40 gigs a month for R500. After a billing dispute previously I had a limit of R1500 put onto this line to avoid ever going over budget again. If received a bill of over R30,000 for using 4gigs over the 40gig contract I have. I put in a dispute before my debit order was run and they said they would investigate it as they saw I had a limit on the system and it went over that. Subsequently the debit order of R35000 went off my account. I was told to go to the bank to reverse the debit order as it would take them over 3 weeks to reverse the amount. I went to the bank and reversed the debit order. I then had all of my business lines suspended. I also had payroll go off at the same time and needed to get a loan to cover the amount Vodacom debited from my account. The disputed amount is still on my account and I have spent over 2 hours on the line to various people (they can check their systems as they record everything).
I would like to proceed with legal action against Vodacom for this and will be encouraging as many people as possible to submit their grievances so that we can put forward a class action suit against Vodacom. As a small business I cannot be held ransom by a company I have been a customer for for over 15 years and paid hundreds of thousands of Rands to. It is shameful that they can continue to operate as they do. I have had no response to my requests and this entire process has caused me health issues as well as financial losses which I will be contesting compensation for.
