In summary: After multiple communications with Vodacom, I am yet to receive a cancellation quote for my cellphone contract.

Of all the frustrating aspects related to dealing with call centres, the lack of respect for paying customers has to be the worst.

I was told more than once by the call centre agents that there was a system error ( only because the quote repeatedly showed a zero value owed to Vodacom) - and that their "Supervisor" would address the issue and contact me within 48 hours.

That never happened.

That is a clear sign of disrespect for my time, effort and hard earned money that pays for my contract with what is evidently an ungrateful company.

I did receive a zero value quote following an email that I sent - but after signing and returning it to Vodacom, they confirmed the cancellation date as the end of contract term. Why would I sign an EARLY cancellation quote for it only to end when my original contract is due to end?

So that approach clearly didn't get me any closer to my goal. So I decided to go down the call centre route.

Dealing with call centres agents whose link to the company is not transparent and who have very little respect for your situation hardly reinforces the "care" in Customer Care.

When a customer has an issue that the Call Centre repeatedly ( and disrespectfully) fails to resolve - then why is no regional office (open at convenient times for working individuals) where one can sit opposite a physical person and resolve the matter then and there?

Call Centres are an easy tool used by companies to safeguard themselves from having to physical deal with customer complaints - and frankly it's pathetic.

Why did I not get a call from the Supervisors in the cancellations department? Or from the regional customer care/relations manager? So many questions...
