Call Center incompetence

I write my complaint here as there does not seem to be any other way of lodging a complaint against Vodacom. It only points you to a chat bot or a call center which is of no use with a complaint. I did an upgrade on my contract last week Wednesday. I upgraded 2 of my numbers. I received the one device on the Thursday and the other on Friday. That is not too bad and the experience was very nice . RAM couriers did a fantastic job with the delivery and even phoned me to check that I am at the delivery address. That is where the good experience ends. When I got home on Friday I started to unpack my package. My package consisted of a new Samsung Phone and a Samsung watch. Very exited I unpacked the new phone and started the setup procedure. Then I got to the watch. I asked for a black watch and they send a rose gold watch. I called the call center and was shocked by the simple answer....oh we will see if we can sort it out is 3 -5 days.....What??? Vodacom made a mistake and it may take them 5 days to sort it out. Me as the customer is being inconvenienced and no one seems to care. This is not acceptable. As I am close to Vodaworld, I thought that going to the hub of Vodacom will help. Not true. It was shocking as the first agent did not even try and help me. After insisting to speak to someone else I was referred to another person. I really forgot his name(sorry). He was more helpful but apart from logging a call on the "system" he was not able to sort out the problem. One would think that it is easy to just exchange the items. The second agent tried to explain to me that the people doing the telephone upgrades and online orders are not really part of Vodacom. This is shocking. I am a Vodacom Customer(have been for about 25 years) and Vodacom should take responsibility for all their sub contractors. It is so easy these days to have *********** operators( human robots )manning a telephone system and any error or problem becomes the customer's problem. On some of my calls there was so much background noise it was hard to hear the operator. Vodacom is just washing their hands. As millions of customers are making it possible for you to exist it is your problem. One would assume that if Vodacom made a mistake there would be some urgency in fixing it. To me 5 days has no urgency attached to it and is not acceptable. Then it sounds that I first need to return the wrong device and then a new one will be shipped. How inefficient can you be? Wasting 100 of liters of fuel and wasting time and money with double deliveries and increasing the CO2 footprint? Really? I really hope someone with pride in their work will read this and act on it with urgency. Please get back to human interaction and human problem solvers. Allow deviations from the pre-programmed "system" to help customers. It is not possible for system architects to think of every possible scenario.
