I phoned in to 111 to ask how to do a Sim Swop on my boyfriends data contract as the sim was faulty and need to be replaced. The first call center agent told me that we cannot do a sim swop ourselves and needed to visit a Vodacom Shop to do the sim swop for us. We went to the Vodacom Shop in the Golden Walk Shopping center and they told us that a Sim Swop will cost us R70. I was so disgusted as you can buy a sim card for R2 and now we have to pay R70 which I think is redicilous. We left the store without doing a sim swop. I phoned the call center again and the call center agent told me that we can do the sim swop ourselves and we just need to buy any sim card but not to rica it and then phone back and they will do the sim swop for us. I went to a store and bought a sim card. Phoned the contract customer care to do the sim swop. When I spoke to the agent she told me that I needed a Contract Sim and not a prepaid sim. I was really dissapointed at this as after speaking to 3 different call center agents - all 3 of them had different stories of how to do a sim swop. How do these people get trained if neither of them gave the same advice. I am really thinking of switching to another network as this is really pathetic custumer service.
