Business-Critical Inbound Calls Failing – Vodacom Closing Case Without Resolution (Since Nov 2025)
I am experiencing a business-critical inbound call routing issue with Vodacom that has been ongoing since November 2025.
These calls trigger Severity 1 alerts in my environment and are operationally critical.
Issue:
Inbound international calls from Twilio to my Vodacom mobile number consistently fail with:
SIP 480 – Temporarily Unavailable
Q850 Cause Code 34
0 second post-dial delay
The call never rings
Important technical validation:
• Another Vodacom number successfully receives the exact same calls from the same Twilio origin. • Twilio confirms successful handoff on their side. • This isolates the issue to provisioning/routing specific to my MSISDN within Vodacom’s voice network.
A Vodacom case was logged and marked as “resolved” without the issue being fixed and without technical explanation.
Front-line support has been unable to escalate to the appropriate Voice Network Operations / Interconnect team.
This is not a device issue. This is not a coverage issue. This is a network-level routing rejection.
Given the business-critical nature of these calls, I require:
• Escalation to Vodacom Voice Network Operations • Verification of HLR/IMS provisioning for this MSISDN • Confirmation no inbound international filtering is active • Written technical response
If this remains unresolved, I will escalate formally to ICASA.
