Bunch of discriminating idiots
Since a took out my contract with Vodacom in 2017, I paid my full statement amount. On 04/03/2025 I moved my fibre ISP to Vodacom and took out a contract where I paid a discounted amount for the first 6 months. The 6 months lapsed last month, but I didn't receive any reminder or notification that I am going to pay the full amount as from last month. At end of September, I slipped up because I didn't look at my last statement and just paid what I had paid the previous month. In other words, my account is in arrears but have been in arrears only since the end of September. Now Vodacom's accounts department had been hounding me since 03 October 2025, but I had blocked their number on my phone a while back because of the poor way they conduct their business. They would call you and when you answer the phone, it would be quiet on their end or you would have to listen to answering machine music. When I saw that they had been phoning me 4 times a day, I decided to unblock their number on 15 October 2025. The first time thereafter that they called and I answered, it was dead quiet on their end. The second time they phoned, I got the music. I decided to call them and to my surprise was greeted with: "Thank you for returning our call regarding your arrears account". I dropped the call and waited for them to call me again. On the 16th I received a call at 16H25 while I was driving and the woman on the other side said she wanted to speak to Mr Johannes Erasmus and I rep**** that it is him speaking. She then said I must give her my ID number so she can verify me, and I rep**** that I am not going to her my ID number, as she was the one who phoned me and when she insisted, I dropped the call. 7 Minutes later Vodacom again phoned me and a woman, don't know whether it was the same one as before, said she wanted to speak to Mr Johannes Erasmus, and we repeated the same chain of words as during the previous call, with the difference that she dropped the call this time after saying something about an SMS. I didn't catch what she said but couldn't ask her to repeat it, as she had already dropped the call. This morning at 10H27, I received an SMS that said: "Your Collections Outgoing Calls Bar has been activated". To test this, I made a call to my wife and a voice message said that my cellular service has been suspended.
