Bunch of ******

I acquired an LG V20 at the end of March 2017. 26 August it overheats in my pocket and does not want to switch on anymore.

28 August I take it to the Vodacom shop at Menlyn Park Shopping Centre and they tell me that it will be fixed under warranty.

30 August I receive an SMS stating "Vodacom Repairs job no. ********** 0 is ready for collection at VODACOM REPAIRS MENLYN WICC ********** 810. Please bring along your ID/Drivers licence for verification purposes"

31 August I go to the Vodacom Shop at Menlyn and a woman named "Merriam" very rudely asks me if I have insurance as the technicians found liquid on the board of the phone. ***?!?!?

First they tell me it's under warranty which I agreed with as the phone just stopped working in my pocket!! No water touched the phone!!! Then I receive a FALSE sms saying that the my phone is ready for collection when in actual fact it was not and then I was told that I must use my insurance to fix the phone because the technician "Elia Nhuvungu" found liquid damage on the board?!?!

This is the WORST customer service I have ever received!!! Appalling to say the least!

Feedback received that there is nothing I can do if the diagnosis by the "technician" is "liquid damage on the board". So basically, if the "technician" at Vodacom says that there is liquid damage on the board of your phone, you cannot do anything. They don't have to provide concrete evidence or proof and you cannot disagree with the diagnosis even though you know in your head and heart that the phone simply crashed on its own in your pocket. Thanks for nothing Vodacom. I can assure you, you have lost one more customer because when this contract comes to an end I will then move to another mobile service provider. I will also make it my life's mission to inform and warn as many people as I can that if they are with Vodacom and your phone crashes, you will have to pay to fix it yourself or use insurance as the "technicians" can simply say there is liquid damage on the board and there is nothing you can do about it. Not to mention the run around you can expect when you take your crashed phone in for repairs. Receiving an SMS that your phone is ready for collection when in actual fact it has not even been fixed and you are going to be informed that you must pay to fix it. Really, Vodacom?! Really??!!? Never have I ever been so disgusted by the lack of honesty and assistance that I have received from a service provider. I feel like Carte Blanche should be informed of Vodacom's shady repairs services and practices.
