Broken Promises and Unacceptable service

When there was a hard lockdown and salaries at our company stopped. My Vodacom account was unpaid. I contacted Vodacom and sent them the letter from my employer that i will not be receiving a salary and i am unable to pay.

They gave me 2 options.

1. Pay half the installment per month for three months. 2. My subscription will be changed to a prepaid subscription for three months. this means my account stops and i have 3 months to get my arrears up to date at and buy my own data and airtime.

I have sent the email selecting option 2.

To my surprise this was never done. Never switched to prepaid. They kept invoicing me each month.

After my phone line was suspended i contacted Vodacom again. speaking to a manager who i also explained that this fault is on their side. That had they moved me over to prepaid the situation would be more manageable. But due to them invoicing and debiting each month the amount kept on increasing and also making it impossible for any South African after recovering from hard lockdown to settle a bill that is worth thousands.

When speaking to the manager saying that it is unfair to expect me to pay a minimum amount of close to R1200 for the next 6 months just to get my line activated again, she said the other option is R800 a month for the next 6 months and that is it. Not looking at the fact that their mistake caused this issue, not taking into consideration that had they done their work this would be resolved.

I accepted this R800 as i need to work. I need my phone to be able to get a salary. The arrangement was that i will pay each month on the 8th. However once again. I had a debit order that went off the first again for the full amount, they never switched over the contract to prepaid.

I would like Vodacom to get in touch with me. I am also responsible for my arrears. However this was not caused due to my own negligence. It was due to Covid. I have sent in my papers as well. The other party who is also responsible is Vodacom who does not want to take responsibility for their mistake in this.

I tried calling to ask why am i still being billed after making an arrangement and i was just transferred from one department to the next.

Vodacom, for being your customer for the past 10+ years, I have expected better service than this especially in times we find ourselves in today.

@Vodacom , I received a stinking email from a legal representative stating that Vodacom is in the clear. Should this matter not be Sorted with a solution that takes into consideration my side of the story i will go public with enough proof showing how Vodacom uses dirty tactics to bully their clients. @Vodacom rep stated facts that is incorrect. And i have rep**** to his mail with proof that this is incorrect. Please have a talk with this rep as this is another piece of proof that Vodacom uses dirty tactics.
