Broken promises and ******* contracts
This is not the first review I write about Vodacom. I actually lost track of how many times I did this and I'm still far from a happy customer. In short - over the past few YEARS VODACOM signed me up for contracts I DID NOT agree to in any way - not on a paper contract or a verbal telephonic agreement. I asked for the proof - either a recording or a signed paper copy - which they to this day could still not provide. In both cases it took me more than 2 years to get those contracts off my name and in each case promises of refunds were made and in both cases it was never done. With the last contract they once again raised and entered me into a contract for the 2nd time after the 1st ******* contract "ended". I requested cancellation both verbal and via e-mail several times. I tried phoning their customer care / accounts department several times and then I could not talk to a human being and was cut off after several back and forth instructions by an electronic voice. I managed to speak to a person about 4 times and in each case they could not help me and my request was escalated to the back office. I was promised a call from an agent and this never happened. I requested a call from them on the app several times on the app - I never received a call. After each of the Hello Peter reviews I received a generic answer that an agent will be in contact. This call happened ONCE - the rest of the time absolutely nothing happened. During this one call from an agent I once again explained the situation and was promised they will get back to me. Somebody eventually phoned me back and said the contract is cancelled and no more payments will be taken from my account. I made it clear that I will reverse the monthly payment order if they take another payment. She agreed and said it will not be necessary because there will be no more payments taken. Next payment day my current legal contract was paid as well as a NEW HIGHER payment and when I checked my account they once again had a new ******* contract in my name - with the new expiry date 2 years later. I tried to reverse this payment but I could only reverse the entire payment and not just the ******* one. As soon as I did this somebody from Vodacom phoned me about my account in arrears. Once again I explained and once again I was told they would get back to me. I also insisted that the R100 fine for and account in arrears must be removed and I will apy the account I agreed to. When she came back to me she apologized for the "mistake" and said the fine will be removed and said please just pay the R144 for the current legal account. I paid it immediately after talking to her and received a thank you for the payment sms. A week later the fine was back on my account and I started receiving sms's from them to avoid disconnection I have to pay the R100 fine. To this day I still receive them at a rate of 3 sms's a week. Certain "privileges" to me as an app user and account holder was blocked from use because my account is in arrears. I made every payment every month - no exceptions since my last encounter with them and their promise to me. I kept my end of the deal - they once again broke their promises and is now harassing me about another ******* payment or fine they expect from me My current cell phone contract expires in November. I'm paying my account but I'm blocked from certain functions and special deals and the cherry on top is that they now blacklisted me because of the fine they hold me accountable for. I will not be renewing my contract in November or ever again but they now effectively blocked me from getting a contract with another service provider. How can a company as big as Vodacom act so dishonest and ******* and provide such bad customer service? There is NO integrity but they continue to trade and the biggest joke of all - they send mails, sms's and make renewal offers to me despite the dispute. Your review rating above should have a negative option as well because rating them even 1 star is greatly inaccurate. I had this telephone number for almost 20 years but when I said during one of my conversations with an agent that phoned to offer me an upgrade that I will not be allowed to keep the number If I go to another service provider! How do I fight this ********* company? Who is going to stand up and help me as consumer against them? How do I stop them from assigning MY number to another fool customer? How do I get them to remove my name from the black list? I do not deserve this. I'm not in arrears. They FORCED me to reverse a payment because they simply ignored my cancellations and they entered me into expensive very stupid contracts. Who would agree to pay almost R300 a month for 1 GIG data with NO device - just the data? The first ******* contract they "upgraded" the R99 contract I had to almost R200 a month for R100 airtime a month - no new phone. The 2nd ******* contract was for data - and they did that TWICE!!!!! Can I lay a charge of ***** with the SA Police Service? Please SOMEBODY - I need help with this.
