Breach of Privacy and poor client service.

I got a new number recently and have not used my old number/sim since. Oddly enough my dad called me ask why I have been using my old number again (which I haven't). He informed me that he has been getting missed calls from my old number. Then yesterday he called me and said a man called him and said that this number is saved as 'Dad' on his sim card (which is my old number).

I then called Vodacom's customer care and explained that I do understand that they give old numbers to other people if we don't use them. That doesn't bother me. I just wanted to know why the person they gave it to has the numbers of my friends and family. This is a privacy breach and Vodacom is responsible.

The lady I spoke to was very rude and accused me of losing the simcard and that that is why the man was able to picked it up and use it. I told her that it is not the case. She then made me feel like I was dumb or lying by telling me that the man cannot have my family's numbers as they wipe the simcard before reassigning it. I tried to tell her that it is indeed possible because obviously it happened. She then rudely told me as if I am illiterate that perhaps I should go to a vodashop so that they can explain to me why this is not possible.

When I asked to speak to a supervisor she said the he will be in a meeting until 9PM (I didn't really believe this)

Vodacom breached my privacy and the instead of fixing the problem, made me feel very stupid.

This is not okay.
