Breach of personal details: POPIA Violation

Vodacom does not take protection of its customers personal data seriously. I recently experienced a breach of my personal data by a vodacom employee. The employee of vodacom used his access to vodacoms system to access my data for personal reasons. In this case the employee and colleague of his looked up my details on their systems and was trying to convince me to give permission on a sim swap that the employee claimed his whats app was on. This employee and his colleague emailed me and I have proof of this. I have escalated to vodacom who has not acted and downplayed this, despite the email addresses being vodacom email addresses. This has been confirmed by the vodacom store today. I reported this to customer care and the social media page who both down played this and their advise was " block the number", with no proper investigation or trying to address the matter. I was forced now to protect myself since this number has all my personal details linked to it, banking etc. I cancelled the contract and had to pay it up just to protect myself because my service provider has failed and leaked my details. I am surprised this has not been treated seriously since POPIA has serious legal ramifications. I am now lodging complaint with POPIA. Vodacom have your security officer prepare!!!!!!! ps. the cancellations lady was more interested in telling me there will be a penalty for cancelling, only at the end of the call did she ask why I am cancelling. What a poor poor organisation!!!

Hi if you think this is over it is not. I dont feel the seriousness of the issue is being realised. You had an internal data breach, which a sorry now cant fix, when i escalated this weeks ago zero action was taken. I have emailed your company secretary last week on the mail address provided on vodacoms website, I want the email address of the Information officer of vodacom, I have not received response as yet. So i will request this of you as well. By law and legislation the information officer is responsible and accountable for matters such as these. Please have them contact me or furnish me with their mail address please.
