Breach of information and NO customer service to assist in resolving

About 2 weeks ago I completed a form at Vodacom in the Old Mutual Building, Pinelands, to have a number swop processed on my phone. The consultant obviously didn’t know that my situation was quite serious and that the reason I requested a number swop is due to harassment where someone was threatening my life and I needed to do more than just block him. Two weeks passed since completing the form in store. I called Vodacom who advised that they received no such request. I contacted the store, and the consultant advised that the issue is ‘pending’. I called Vodacom again and asked for a manager and she told me that the form was submitted just now. Two weeks later. For the consultant this was probably not a matter of urgency or importance, but for me it was a way to keep my emotional and mental sanity intact. Things like these should be important as you do not know the reason why a customer is requesting a change of number. Urgency would have been thoroughly appreciated.

Two days later Vodacom advised that the number swop was done. This after I requested to be escalated to a manager and all of that. The number was changed. However, something in the system (?) went wrong, as the very person I was trying to hide from, sent me an sms to my old number, which went through successfully , and then saw that my number had changed. He was one of a few people who got automatic updates of my new contact number.

Vodacom: I feel like taking legal action against you. You had NO right to allow such a slip up. How do you distribute data like that without permission? That is *********. It’s just not right. I have been with Vodacom for over 10 years. Today I moved to another Service Provider because I cannot trust you. People have a right to know that a number change does not remain discreet with you.

I am now stuck with a contract which I am not going to pay for. Your negligence as a service provider has forced me to leave after 15 years.

TO MAKE THINGS WORSE. The Branch Manager has NO sense of making this her issue and told me to contact the call center. Even after I told her that I was put on hold for an eternity and my call was dropped... she said : sorry this is the only way.

Your customer service is non existent and this is the worst network ever,
