BREACH OF "CONTRACT" BY VODACOM
Despite me requesting Vodacom REPEATEDLY, that I do NOT REQUIRE A CONTRACT, they still continue to debit my banking account. Hence, the only way I could ensure that they adhere to what I as the consumer want, was to return the debit order! I did not give them authorization to continue debiting my account after I had paid up my contract and phone in September last year but yet, as I was told by numerous other consumers, each month the debiting continued. I was given a quote by Vodacom for the outstanding amount owing on my contract. I paid that amount over in August 2017. On the form provided by them, there was an option asking me whether I want to continue with the contract or pre-paid. I ticked the box "pre-paid". In March 2018 I gave up requesting them to stop debiting my account and I returned the March debit order. Soon after the calls from the collections dept started along with up to 10 sms's daily, stating that I am "in arrears" and have breached contract?????? I do not have a contract and did not ever request one! Now, I have an arrears amount owing along with interest which they are hounding me for.
Social media is full of this. People complaining that they cannot get rid of Vodacom. Useless customer care department that just will not take no for an answer.
