Breach of Contract
My Vodacom contract was due to expire in August 2017.
In July I called Vodacom to give them a months notification to put me onto prepaid from the expiry date of the contract. The Operator asked me why? I said that the data bundles on Vodacom's contracts don’t work for me and I need to look at options. Prepaid suited me perfectly.
The operator looked at my history as a Vodacom customer and said they could upgrade me rather to Smart S which has 500mb data and as an Incentive to keep me as a Vodacom customer an additional 2GB per month @ R479 with other Smart S benefits.
I thought it a good deal and the 2,5GB was adequate for my needs and agreed. I received 5GB data which was a once off. I then received 500mb the following month and I called to ask what happened to my Incentive data. I was told they would need to listen to recordings to confirm. I was told to wait 10 days, which I thought unduly long but I was confident in 10 days my problem would go away. It didn’t! Several phone calls to check up and I was told the matter was unresolved. They offered an explanation….."maybe the person who offered you the incentive was not authorized to….but perhaps we’ll escalate it to Solutions". Now my temperature is reaching boiling point. To date – no resolution!! I should just have cancelled and moved on.
The recordings are available to Vodacom so the resolution is simple. To refer it to “Solutions” for what, just damn listen to your recordings.
Pathetic service….remind me again why we support such corporates …. at this point data deals are far better with other service providers. Don’t get caught by Vodacom’s offer of an incentive, it does not exist!!! Classic case of misrepresentation!
