BOYCOTT VODACOM and REPORT TO THE NCC

Does anyone have experience with the National Consumer Commission. How quickly do they resolve issues? Or do they really help (because I’m definitely going to make the time to deal with this vodacom company)

Literally, vodacom does NOT have any reliable escalation channels to resolve grievances.

They’ve had my device since the 12th of August 2022, today is the 19th of September 2022, and I’m still dealing with uncultured, rude “consultants”, who cannot even help you when you ask, what is the way forward.

Imagine, I’m paying R350 per month for phone insurance, only to be taken for a ****!

Thank you for assisting in helping speed I up the process.

Current progress:
So, on Tuesday (20/09/2022) after they called me at the repair centre (Fourways) I went in store to confirm everything discussed on the call.
I spoke to a lady called Lelo.

I asked if it’s possible to get an iPhone 14 when it come out on Fri the 23/09/2022 - the lady told me it is possible and she even told me my Excess amount will be R3900.00. So I agreed and I was told I will be called either Thurs afternoon after they’ve received stock. No problem.

On the morning of the 23/09/2022 I saw a missed call from Vodacom Fourways at 06:22am. When I tried to call back, there was no answer.

Eventually around 10:30am, I got a call from Vodacom Cresta. I spoke to a guy called Shane (THE WORST!). He tells me that my insurance covers up to R25 100.00. Then I asked if I can claim for an iPhone 14pro instead. He told me I definitely can. And I also need to make it to the store ASAP. I drove and got to the store around 12:30, when I got there there was no power.
I finally meet this Shane person (I’ve been going to Vodacom Cresta a couple of times - ALWAYS WITHOUT FAIL I’M TOLD SHANE WENT HOME AND HE’S THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN ASSIST).
He told me he was busy with the insurance application - as he was giving the insurance consultant the STOCK CODE, the power went off and he could not continue.

I then asked if I should come back later, he told me yes and the store closes at 6pm.
When I was done with work at around 16:30 - before I went to Cresta, I decided to call so I don’t wasted my petrol and time going there for nothing.
Someone picks up the phone, when I ask to speak to Shane, they drop the call. Then eventually no one was picking up the phone. It was just ringing nonstop.
I decided let me drive to Cresta - my time, petrol and wear and tear of the car.
I get there, I’m told Shane went home at 15:00 - THE VERY SAME PERSON WHO TOLD ME I CAN COME ANYTIME BEFORE 18:00
The lady who was there and tried to help me tried to follow up - but with no luck.
I had no choice but to go home without any substantial help.
Mind you, I stay about 36km from Cresta - so I’m just driving around wasting this very expensive petrol.
I was told Shane will call me Saturday morning - NOTHING
I gave him the benefit of the doubt cause it is weekend.
Today is Monday, it seems like no one at Cresta is interested in sorting out this issue.
