Black Friday deal expired

On Friday I requested an upgrade via Vodacom online, I chose a deal that sounded amazing on a iPhone SE, I then received an email with a reference number and a SMS confirming my upgrade request saying that an agent would contact me within 24 hours to confirm it. The SMS said: Thank you for the sales enquiry. We are attempting to contact you. Please contact ********** 4 or alternatively wait for our call. Vodacom Online. After phoning the number numerous times I finally got through on Tuesday morning and was told that the Black Friday deal was no longer valid and that an agent should have contacted me in time for me to qualify it. I was then told that if I was unhappy I could escalate the problem by sending an email to the relevant department. Is this really how Vodacom treats their customers???
