Bittersweet disappointment again

So, I thought after twice the disappointment I will brave the Vodacom online team again and try to take advantage of a very attractive online deal and sign up for another 2 year contract. Went online, signed up for the contract and up to this point has been smooth sailing. Little did I know my trouble was about to start again. Yes, again as I have had a very disappointing experience 2 months before when trying to get a contract with Vodacom.

This time I though i will phone the Online service directly to get the process jump started. At this time I spoke to a lady called Sabeeha in the online team and she quite lovely captured my details and advised me the contract has been approved. I asked her specifically if any documentation is required and she advised that only on delivery will they require information. So cool right? I also asked what is the next steps and she advised that my number needs to be ported from Cell C to Vodacom and that she has put the application forward. I asked if she can call me back once porting is completed and also advised her I am only available from 16:00 each day. this was the 28th Nov 2016. Sabeeha then agreed that she will contact me back the next day. I waited several day and did not hear anything from her so i decided to call the service centre again. Getting lost a view times in the IVR menu I have since had the "pleasure" to speak to Kishan at Customer car. After asking Kishan to transfer me to a Supervisor 4 times he point blank refused! After being persistent he promised that supervisor Nontanthla will call me back in 30min. This was on the 2nd Dec and I am still waiting. Out of desperation I contacted the Vodacom shop in Pickbel Parkade and had the absolute pleasure of dealing with Melissa Fisher. What a lovely person with excellent customer service. She assisted me with porting my number to Vodacom that has now taken effect and she walked me through the entire process. She kept in contact and we together have now managed to port my number to Vodacom after it had to be archived first. (Could all this not have been advised by the online team?)

So yesterday I called the online service again (somehow ended up with customer care again - who knew that you can divide customer care...) spoke to Mbali and Palesa, not exactly sure what service they provide, all I know in no uncertain terms they DO NOT PROVIDE SUPPORT IF YOU HAVE A REQUEST FOR A NEW CONTRACT. They only provide support if you are already a customer, new customers without an account, forget it.
Eventually, after calling for 2 hours I was transferred back to Sabeeha as apparently she is the only person that can complete the contract request. I spoke to her at 16:52 yesterday and she promised she will call me back in 5 min as I know they close at 17:00. HUGE surprise... I have still not heard from her. Clearly the sale on her statistics is more important than actually following through with client service. Sabeeha informed me that she did not get a message that she should contact me.... We agreed that you would the first time we spoke...

So, now the way forward, please if it is not too much trouble can someone please contact me regarding the selection of the device as I have come to believe that Sabeeha only partially completed the request and no device is selected or contract type even though my delivery address has been taken . I have already done the porting on her behalf. I would also like to have this completed within this week still as Friday will be 14days since my first request and I know the request will be archived.

Reference number ********** 0

Advise to future customers, if you HAVE to go to Vodacom, rather deal with the shops and not the online service centre. This is a mythical department that is mostly not reachable. I can definitely recommend in Cape town Melissa Fischer for excellent customer service! 10 Star rating for you Melissa!!
