Billing issue to my contract account
I have encountered with my contract for an iPhone 12. The contract includes 1.3 GB of data and 100 minutes of airtime for 36 months. This contract was done online on upgraded as was due.
According to our agreement, with Vodacom, my understanding was that I would only be billed a fixed monthly amount of R 408.98, which covers my data and airtime usage. However, I have recently received a bill that includes additional charges for calls that I was unaware would incur extra costs and my contract was new not on upgrading.
I specifically believed that I could use my allocated 100 minutes for calls. It appears that I have been charged for calls beyond this allowance, which was not part of our agreement. This situation has caused me considerable confusion and concern, as I was under the impression that my contract covered all my communication needs within the stipulated limits. I requested Vodacom to investigate and review my records. While I was online, someone from Vodacom contacted me and finalized the upgrading contract over the phone
Another thing was the day I received my phone the was no sim card i realised in January 2025 when I was checking my two cell phone accounts what happened about the 1.3 GB of data and 100 minutes of airtime I'm supposed to receive monthly only to find out i was billed on the separate number which I do t have sim card then I went to nearest Vodacom shop to complain about the new number i was bill on which i don't have the told me to do Sim swap because is my new number for new contract. I told them this was not a new contract it was upgrading but they told me that the system showed a new contract.
After doing a SIM swap, I insert the SIM card into another phone. I noticed that I'm sharing this SIM card with someone. I wrote the complaint to customer care at Vodacom to this date no reply they always call to remind me to pay the areas in which I complain about the amount I was over charged.
