Billing From HELL

I opened a contract with Business in 2020(Dec to be exact); phone was delivered and they asked if I’m keeping my current number or using the one that they gave me, I opted for the latter and requested that they cancel the one they gave me(on record even). Did I not continue to get debited 7 months after this?(mind I was fighting every month as to why I’m being debited) Their reason? That initial number is STILL active and that’s why I’m getting debited, HOW?!?!

Shap, I get fed up on how long this “investigation” is taking and I rope in The National Consumer Commision and cc them on every email I’m sending to Vodacom. All of a sudden, my issue is picked up and being processed within 2 week instead of another month over and above the 7 months it took. The recordings clearly state my instructions but they weren’t being followed through from Vodacom’s side; I finally get the mail that they’ve acknowledged their wrongdoing and my debits would be paid back into my account(another process that took 2 months to process).

January 2022 there’s no Voda debit, I feel like there is no other issues, my case has been resolve and my money was returned earlier in the month. Next thing? I get a summons from Vodacom claiming that I owe them the exact same monies they’ve just admitted(on record AND email) to have been wrongfully debitting me.

The agent from The National Consumer was equally surprised that now I’m getting a summons and requested that I send him EVERY mail between myself & Vodacom(which I did) - mind you he did a courtesy call to check if my issue was resolved, so I’m glad he did when he did. Now it’s back to square one sending these same emails to Vodacom’s collection lawyers as they try figure out what’s going on.

I honestly just want my relationship with Vodacom to stay as prepaid and not have any further business outside of that

2 days later and still no feedback on my issue. Instead, I have to be the one chasing Vodacom around to resolve this issue.

Can't say that I'm surprised honestly

2 weeks later and STILL no word from Vodacom. Not even surprised as Hellopeter doesn't hold as much weight as it did back in the day
