Billed in full for cellphone contract

I did un apgrade in August and received phone A within 2 working days, the phone was returned to Vodacom as the phone requested a password and did not take a pin number. A reversal upgrade was done and I was allowed to do a new upgrade and took phone B. When I received my statement I was billed for phone A even though the phone was sent back to Vodacom. I logged a call and when I queried the status of this a few days later, I was informed that my query went to the wrong department (seriously) Another call was logged this time to the right department, when I queried it again i was told that it was short time to do the reversal as the debit order was due to go off in 2 days time. I was advised the pay the about and Vodacom will either pay my money into my personal account or credit my account, I advised them to credit my account. On Monday (03/10) I called again to check if the reversal was done and to my suprise it was still on my invoice. I was informed that my bill at the end of October is R8600.00 ( i could have fainted) When i asked why i was informed that they did not break the contract into 24 months but took a lumpsum. I dont understand how can i still get charged for a phone i returned to Vodacom and they confirmed that it was received. I was told it will take 7 to 14 working days for my query to be resolved. The next day i called accounts department and insist to speak to the manger or superivor, I spoke to Mt Themba Sibisi and he gave me my work that he will look into my query on a daily basis and keep me posted which he does, but i also informed him that if this query is not sorted out by next week Wednesday I will make sure that i put a stop order on my debit order. This is crazy getting a bill for R8600.00
