Bill Shoc****!!

I upgraded my Vodacom contract about 3 months ago, from a voice line to a data line. The upgrade was done telephonically and the consultant advised that I would be receiving 1 gig per month with my new device. Prior to upgrading, I had always recieved data on the line and would be notified when the data was depleted and could top up the data myself. The consultant did not advise me that this was no longer the case and that the line would now be an open line. The new device was used for about 2 months after upgrading with no issues. Up until the month of November, mid month where the line was locked without notification. when I called in to enquire why the line was locked, i was advised it was due to unusual actitivity on my account, particularly, high data usage and that my Bill was sitting at a shocking R15000+. I am not prepared to pay this amount, mainly for the reason that when i did the upgrade, the consultant did not notify me of any changes to my current line. She also did not advise me that the line would be an open line. Vodacom advised that they would investigate and listen to the call to determine what was said, what I was advised of and what i wasnt. Two weeks later I was notified via email that the investigation has been completed and that I was liable to pay the bill as they had found that the bill was accurate and true. That however is not what I am disputing, I am disputing the fact that I was not advised the line was open, I would have never agreed to the contract otherwise. I am well aware that the data was infact used up, but usually if my allocated monthly data limit had been reached, I would be notified via SMS and connectivity to the internet would automatically be lost. This was not the case here, so for as long as I was allowed to browse, I assumed i was still within my allocated bundle. Morever, one of the consultants advised me that Vodacom took the liberty to allocate a credit facility to my account, and that is why I was allowed to browse up until the bill reached that amount. I did not agree to this, I did not ask for this, nor was I told of this. SInce this whole fiasco started, the line has been locked, I asked that it remains locked until such time the issue is resolved, this was in an attempt to avoid further billing on the account. I went onto my Vodacom profile this morning and discovered that the December Bill (not the November one) has already accumulated a bill of around R5000. How is this possible when the line is locked and I ask that it remains locked until such time I call in to ask that it be unlocke. I have not used the line, today is the 5th and how did this amount come to be when the line is supposed to be suspended??????? No one at your customer care is able to explain this to me. Furthermore, I received an sms from Vodacome this morning stating that they have issued a credit note on the previous bill (the one of R15 000+) to the amount of R11 000+. How did this amount get calculated???? I would like to have someone competent contact me, someone who is able to answer ALL my questions and not someone who will thumbsuck. Should this not get resolved today, I will contact the Consumer commission for further assistance.
