Big company ***** with very little the consumer can do about it...

Vodacom contacted me to sell me cheaper data. This was not a subcontracted company, but Vodacom themselves. My contract was a once off deal of R175 airtime, 2gb data and 100 anytime minutes for R230 a month. Vodacom called me on the 19th of Jan 2020 and told me that they would change my data from 2gb to 5gb a month and I will pay less....yes.... less. I asked and confirmed 3 times. I even opened my statement and told the guy what I received and how much it costs. I even told him that I do not need more than 2gb of data a month, but since I am now going to pay less (total bill), it would be a no-brainer.... And o my, was I wrong.

2 weeks later I checked my current balance and found my bill has doubled. I called them and after speaking to 3 different people, the one guy apologized on behalf the salesperson as they did not sell the product correctly. I requested my subscription to be cancelled and returned to the previous 'state' on the same day. 2 weeks later this has not changed, and I called again. This time saying that I will need to open a ***** case as I cannot stop my direct debit, but they are *****ing money from me. I was told they were going to listen to the recordings and come back within 48 hours. A week later, my latest bill was deducted and nothing.

There is no complaints department to call and I therefore must resort to HelloPeter. 15+ years with Vodacom. No wonder I have started to port my numbers to other providers...

All I want is for my contract to be returned to its previous state (I have another on the same package which has not been upgraded) and a refund to be issued for the money taken from me without my consent.
