Beware Viacom Online Upgrade

My wife upgraded one of our cellphone contracts online, using the "upgrade" function on Vodacom's app. They've sent her the phone ordered, but now claim that it was a new contract ordered, not an upgrade. Upon querying this, she was told to "look at the fine print". The person she dealt with is struggling to comprehend her explanation that she upgraded a number and at no point in time requested a new contract. It clearly states on the invoice sent with the phone, that it was an upgrade. All it would take is a few minutes of effort from Vodacom's side to check their invoice sent and rectify the issue, but they have no interest in doing so. I'd advise anyone wanting to use the upgrade service on Vodacom's app to rather desist from doing so until they've rectified this issue with their app. This isn't going to happen until they acknowledge that they do in fact have a problem, which they're too lazy/*********** to check up on at present.

Follow-up: A consultant named Rudi did make contact and acknowledged that the error appears to be on Vodacom's side. He promised to arrange collection of the mobile device and cancelled the contract. After hearing nothing further, we phoned Vodacom, only to be told that there was no record on their system. Apparently Rudi did absolutely nothing after his phone call. I have now been **********LY debited for a contract which has been cancelled! It seems that this is how Vodacom operates, their MO is to ***** people over and then do as little as possible to assist thereafter, hoping that the client will just give up. You are a useless, inefficient and ******* company and I can assure you that, as a matter of principle more than anything else, I will NOT just go away. You WILL rectify this error to my satisfaction.
