Beware of Vodacom's after sales service
This must be the worst display of service I've encountered in my life. Utter waste of time due to unprofessional employees at vodacom Repair centre! Traveling and waiting for a device to be returned unrepaired due to negligence is not something one would expect from the company claiming to be the leader in the cellular industry.
Today is the 11/09/2020, I booked my phone in at the vodacom store 20.08.2020 and attached my insurance forms with the repair (due the experience life offered me both in front and back office inside of cellular companies as well as to the desk of a technician, also to avoid having to WASTE TIME with filling in forms weeks later for a device that's obviously physically damaged as noted by the employees of this Voda shop as well{excellent service except for not offering to connect me to your repair centre's from your company's lines and telling me to use my airtime instead} ).
My device (displaying physical damage clearly) with its crack screen, bent and clearly cracked housing was then received by vodacoms technician named GM5 (on the paperwork) took a look at the device and noticed only the back cover was scratched,he then rendered my device b.e.r(beyond economical repair) and returned my device unrepaired due to the repair costing more than 75% of the device cost.
Upon receiving the invoice from vodacom with job no ***0, the insurance called me 05/11/2020 informing me they would be rejecting my claim due to the insurance not covering network related problems, after speaking to the gentleman and informing him that my device actually has a cracked display, cracked housing and its slightly bent he then said he'll contact the repair centre and get back to me within the day.
48 hours later on the 07/11/2020 I decided to call customer care whom couldn't assist me at all with anything, whether it be contacting repair centre or a number for the insurance to contact them instead... So now I have no option and decide to visit my nearest Vodacom shop as to find some clarity on the subject as I was still unclear on what's happening.
Upon my arrival the employee dials a free number for the insurance department(thank u customer care for lack of training) on my device and connects me, upon the conclusion of the call the agent assures me that she will get someone to call me back by end of business Monday!
Today being Friday and FOUR days later without any feedback from anyone decides to call the insurance department again but this time atleast I have the number stored to my device, after calling and speaking to someone new and coming to the same conclusion that they require feedback from the repair centre, Clearly I need to get into contact with this repair centre!
Now I make my way back to the vodacom store to try and get in contact with this repair centre as mentioned above the employer refused to connect me and could only offer me a contact number.... I then requested copies of the documents for the repair as I would require the job number for the centre to know what I'm talking about......
To be honest I was shocked to find my device sitting in the back office without even receiving a sms or call from Vodacom Repair Centre or Store concerning the where abouts of my device.
Im now sitting with a phone that's insured and not working due to physical damage but can't have it repaired or replaced due to the lack of wanting to work from a very unprofessional technician GM5 whom is unable to notice cracks and bends on broken devices or is to lazy to write out accurate reports? Has this person even switched on the device to asses it since he didn't notice the clearly cracked display? I'm not rocket scientist but if I didn't see a cracked screen I must not have looked at it to determine if this problem is actually a problem?
Is this really the same vodacom that offers staff extensive yearly training regiments? I honestly wish I have waited before renewing my other line. Never in a million years was I expecting this to happen Thanks alot vodacom
