Being held ransom to disgusting service (or lack thereof!) - FRUSTRATING!

Following on to my last review. I am still waiting for Vodacom to cancel the contract which I had signed on for Online. I had to cancel the contract as they sent me a faulty phone. I called the Sales Department after I had asked to cancel the contract and I explained what had happened. The agent said she could not deal with it and the correct person would contact me. I am still waiting (more than two weeks later). Furthermore Customer care had to log a fault (I have a reference number) as they could not resolve the issue of the 'internet inhibitor' on my cellnumber (which I was moving from prepaid to contract). They said the turnaround time for this is 24 hours. The fault was logged on Fri 31 March. According to the system it was only closed on 11 Apr!? Anyway I was eventually able to use the internet on my phone again. But not for long! On 13 April I called to follow up on the contract cancellation (as I had been instructed to by the agent who had logged for the cancellation. Suddenly around 8pm that evening I again had the 'internet inhibitor' issue. Saturday morning I called Customer Care. They attempted to do a sychronisation but it was not successful. They told me to phone cancellations which I did. The person who I spoke to (whose name I have) said he'd do another synchronisation and all should be resolved in about 4 hours. He also promised to call back and still has not. Tired of now dealing with the call centre I went into a Vodacom shop and spent about an hour with a consultant. He then again logged for a sychronisation. I later recieved two smses to say that the synchronisation has been activated. Still my number was 'internet inhibited'. I again called the Call Centre. At least this agent had the decency to call me back as promised. He tried to active the inhibitor (as it was apparently not active) and then to de-activate it. This did not work. He said he would then escalate it to the back office and the turnaround time would be 48 hrs. I am not holding my breath as with my last experience it was 11 days!

Then today (17 April) I called 082111 to ask to have my caller line identification activated. They indicated that due to the open request they were not able to activate it but had to escalate it to a team leader. The turn around time for the request should be about 6 hours. The gentleman also swore he would phone me at 4pm before his shift finishes. It is now 5.23pm and no call and no activation. Why do your call centre staff promise to call you back when they DO NOT!? This makes me see red. In the meantime I am not able to use WhatsApp (as I can't acces the internet). I am also not able to port my number to another network until the contract is cancelled so in the meantime I am paying for a phone which was not working and for a service which I am not recieving. I am being held ransom to this incompetency and dishonesty! Furthermore I had a 'response' to my last review on hello peter that someone would contact me on my query. There has been NO response. I can only presume it is an automated response to which there is absolutely NO truth.

I am fed up and frustrated!! And am tired of lies and lack of service. Even if this 'internet inhibitor' is eventually sorted out and if the escalation to back office is acted on who knows how long before it magically reappears!?
