Be warned: Vodacom cell phone contracts

I entered into a cell phone contract with Vodacom on 1 December 2016. Logic dictates that if a 12 month contract starts on 1 January it will end on 31 December and not 1 January. A Month runs from the 1st to the 30th or 31st and not to the 1st of the subsequent month. The end date of my cell phone contract is therefore in my view 30 November 2018.This is also what Vodacom itself indicated on “My Vodacom” in relation to the end date of my contract. However, when I contacted Vodacom to confirm that I do not wish to renew or extend the contract, I was all of a sudden told that the end date of the contract is 31 December 2018. When I later asked a consultant in a web chat, why it is indicated on Vodacom’s App or “My Vodacom” that the contract ends on 30 November, the person could not provide an answer apart from saying this is how Vodacom does things. In my view this is not only wrong, but it is dishonest, misleading and prejudicial to clients. Vodacom Clients need to take note.
