Be warned against Vodacom's way of doing business is close to ******ion

I am not writing this review expecting that Vodacom will do anything about it. I just want to warn potential customers to stay away from Vodacom.

I will be leaving Vodacom as soon as I can as their business model is designed to ***** money from you.

First of all, the *100# service to check your balance never seemed to work and I am sure that Vodacom does something near the end of the month to limit the service. The warning SMS that you receive from Vodacom to tell you your data bundle has been depleted comes hours to late if not the next day. Doing so they can charge you R2 per MB out of bundle rates. You would think that a consumer can request to disable internet access when your data bundle has been depleted but then Vodacom would not make Billions *****ing customer’s money.

Sure you can ask them to set a limit on your data charges (The minimum is R50 by the way) but as I had to find out the hard way is that they do not differentiate between data and talk time. I had 55 minutes airtime still available but was unable to use it. I had reach the R50 limit for what I though was only for data and was denied access to my “free minutes” How ridiculous is that???

I had to set the R50 limit as I have received a shocking bill from Vodacom for data charges.

I went to Cell C and bought a wireless LTE router that I now use with my Vodacom phone. They only charge me a R100 a month for 5 GB. The first thing the Cell C consultant did when activating my device was to ask me if he can set a 1 MB limit on my out of bundle charges. This is what a consumer would expect to be standard.

I cannot wait to end my contract with Vodacom and I hope that I at least convince a few people to stay away from Vodacom
