Battle to replace faulty Sony under warranty

We bought a brand new Sony Experia from Cellucity in
N1 City at the end of October 2015. Our son had some few weeks' intermittent
use of it, as its faults came to the fore almost immediately. We took the
phone in to the Vodacom Repairs shop in Century City in January 2016.

It has been taken in for repairs THREE times, with no improvement.
The fourth time we went back to Vodacom Repairs and told them that we wanted
a new phone no questions. It was sent away again and came back with a report
saying No Fault. I remonstrated with the shop saying that I had
requested a new phone. The phone was then booked in for a fifth time with 'escalation' to have it replaced.

*** The phone has been returned to Vodacom Repairs again, today ***. No reason given as yet.

We have not had use of the phone in 4 months and the contract is still being paid.
I have a series of smses from Vodacom on my cellphone, showing that the phone has been booked in FIVE times.
I have emailed the Consumer Protector, W Cape, the Power Line and other consumer services.
I hope this site's exposure will bring a positive result.

Thank you, Hello Peter.
Louise Benson
