Basic incompetence at management level

Some things are just plain dumb.

when you call 082 135 you get an sms to please call 082135 in future!

When you have an Internet issue, you systems says please reference this site. How ? if you cannot stay on Internet?

I am on my phone when reporting severe Internet problems over the past week. The customer care man is very helpful but has to go thru a lot of irrelevant questions that pertain to an individual despite telling him that the whole community is affected.

I have a separate sim card in my router. On a prepaid system, all the messages relating to warning me that data is low is sent to it, NOT to a related phone where notice can be taken!

My previous message here, made just now, has disappeared.

It seems that your call center control cannot relate numerous, individual, messages about Internet performance in this area from the community so nothing happens to fix the issue?

It appears that your system is unable to pinpoint the exact tower from which I am calling and requires me to laboriously spell out the area details. These are just basics!

Why is your control center unable to pick up Internet issues on their monitoring system using threshold alarms?

As I said, just basic issues that show up management incompetence. However it is the poor people who are customer facing that have to bear the brunt of our extreme irritation at such incompetence!

Good day Apart from not addressing the several issues in my communication the following is also of major concern as I am aware it is a lack of quality management embedded in you business processes: I moved into my area some 8 years ago. Reception was bad in the dip and a booster was installed that helped marginally. I subsequently moved to the top of the hill a year later. I then had line of sight with the Vodacom tower at Leopards View/Zebra lodge. The signal was atrocious and I had major issues trying to use the Internet. Eventually in late April 2014, Vodacom had Tumelo Lebakeng [Radio Planning & Optimization NGA +27 71 ********** +27 82 ********** ] approach me and he assisted with a 4G router that works well most of the time. 8 years ago, Vodacom representatives had informed me they had app**** for permission from local authorities to place a proper (instead of a temp tower) facility in this area. I seem to recall that that activity was already several years old at the time. Thus, by now, this application must be more than 10 years old. Last week I was informed when I complained about lack of Internet, that Vodacom is waiting for permission from our Local Authority to put up an extended service with multiple towers. However I was told years ago that because this area consisted of game lodges and farms, there was no justification, based on the revenue due to low traffic volumes for more than one tower. When I reported that Internet was not functioning this week, no one came back to me to tell me that there were capacity issues. When a lot of users cram into an area, voice facilities typically get preference over data users. In our case, all our businesses depend on Internet facilities provided by this one, single, tower. We have dozens of lodges filled with foreign visitors who cannot even send an email at times!!!! We have a Whatsapp Group that links all of us together so we all know what is going on around us at all times. Many have complained individually to Vodacom this week but as of now, Sunday afternoon, the problem has not been sorted. A simple adjustment of the algorithms to provide data users bandwidth could resolve the issues but it appeared that no one was monitoring this systems alarms which is very unprofessional. Thus I smell BS about the tower upgrades (it does not take 10 years) as well as the real, versus perceived capacity issues. NOT good enough Vodacom! In fact, thoroughly unprofessional! I buy a gig a day of day of prepaid data and have been unable to utilise it effectively for almost a week!! That, too, is totally unacceptable!!
