Banking details

I've been paying my Vodacom cellphone bill via debitorder for years now. On the 26th of October I got an sms saying "Thank you for your request to update banking details. We were unable to validate the banking details provided. The service request has been escalated to a support specialist who will contact you shortly."

My banking details were changed to some Nedbank account (I'm with Absa). The "support specialist" never contacted me in regards to the changed banking details.

To make matters worse, I received a penalty of R100.00 for not paying my Vodacom bill, BUT it wouldn't go through because IT'S NOT MY ACCOUNT!! So I phoned Vodacom customer care on the 7th of November, explaining to them my frustration. I got ANOTHER sms saying my request has been escalated to a support specialist.

Three days later, still haven't heard anything.

Yes I'm aware of phishing, whaling, etc and I can guarantee you there is no such action that was launched by me.

Just a question, for me to change my banking details, shouldn't I give proof of a certified ID and copy of bankstatements?
