Bank Account details not changed. I'm now being penalised!

I requested that my bank details be changed about almost 2 months ago. I went in store to the Vodacom in Cape Gate, I filled out the amendment form for this to be updated.

The first debit (June) bounced because the bank details were not changed and I went in store to enquire about this and to make the payment that was now in arrears. The consultant told me that it usually takes time which I understand and I then made my usual monthly payment which he gave me the total. He didn’t mention any extra payments or penalty fees.

This month (July) the debit order again did not go off from the correct account, I placed money in the old account for in case but it bounced AGAIN because this time there was an extra fee of about R200.

I called in and the consultant on the line told me that I was being penalised because of the debit order not going through. At the time she said that it showed paid on her side and that I should call back again to double check.

This morning I received another sms saying that my account was in arrears, I called in to the call centre and requested to check my bank account details.

The record was not updated with my new account details after almost 2 months AND now I need to pay a penalty fee on a debit order that bounced AND it was not even my fault.

The consultant updated my account details but with the ridiculous unreliable service I have been receiving, I am dreading next month’s debit order and I am really hoping that this gets sorted.

Dear Client
Our records reflect that the bank details were updated. We created a credit for the bank charges which amounted to R200. Please contact the Accounts Team on ********** (free from any Vodacom cellphone) for further investigation.
Kind regards
