Bad vodacom fibre and provider. avoid them
To highlight my experience so everyone will understand it, I rate Vodacom below Telkom I got better service and compassion from Telkom than from Vodacom.
To start off was approached by a house sales person regarding Vodacom fibre, took up the offer after one week of no feedback called in agent said the order is invalid and I have to redo an online, I filled it in etc order was being processed, got sent 2 routers?? the month comes when the fibre should cut over all good.
A month or 2 passed and one day the internet just stops working, Vodacom after 2 days only told me that my account was suspended and I asked them how that happened, well the agent cancelled the active order and not the duplicate order.. took them 9 days to get internet back online, never got a pro-rata rate or anything for that.
Now a few months go by and I noticed that I'm getting double billed, went to check invoice history and well for the past 3 months Vodacom has been billing me again for 2 orders, this is now the backlash of the first time they *****ed up my internet and create multiple orders to get my internet online.
I call in ask them to rectify it and they see the mistake we confirm the router serial and MAC to ensure they don't cancel the active order/account. and 3 weeks later AGAIN my internet cuts. I call in and when the agent started with they can't connect to my router I knew they did it again they cancelled the active order and not the inactive one. Immediately called the cancellation department since Vodacom terminated our month-to-month agreement and it was not actioned from my end I requested everything to be stopped effective immediately since the house hold has people that do work from home. transfer my line back into vumatel pool so I can move to a new ISP.
The next day I receive a quote from Vodacom to cancel my internet they quoted me 3600 for a 24 month contract breach, 2400 for fibre 1200 for ONT install and then some additional charge for the router.
I then call in again and after 50 minutes of arguing with the agent where they state and produce a 24 month contract I told them that's the one they cancelled and I insisted on a month-to-month contract.
after I found the last order number which indeed was flagged as a month to month, they escalated to the relevant department.
Now first off since I did not initiate termination of the contract and Vodacom did, why do I have to pay cancellation fees? it's your company's problem that your staff are unskilled to do their job correctly and make the same mistake twice.
I've been with vodacom for more than 20 years, and after this, I will never recommend vodacom to anyone.
