Bad Vodacom

Good day

I signed up for a fibre service from Vodacom around the 10th of December 2018. The fibre network was installed at my premises on the 25 January 2019. Thereafter I called Vodacom to activate my line and they refused to do so. I had an approved SO number and the Object number but Vodacom refused to activate my line stating that without the router from Vodacom it was not possible.

I then signed up from a different ISP which took around 15min and my account was activated. A 2-minute call to tech support and I was connected.

The new ISP or I could not understand why Vodacom refused to activate my account unless their modem was used. The stipulation that the customer must use only Vodacom hardware is really nonsensical.
