"Bad Service" would be a complement to Vodacom

Late last year, Vodacom charged me in excess of R7000 for data over two months. I disputed this and while the dispute was being investigated, I made it perfectly clear to Vodacom that:

1 - if they prove the charges as legit, I would pay the account in full.

2 - while they investigate the charges, I would not pay the account.

3 - they should cancel my debit order as the reversal/unpaid debit order was harming my reputation.

After months of back and forth, Vodacom scapped most of the data bill. At this stage I agreed with them that the outstanding subscription fees that had not been paid during the investigation (up to three months), would be paid together with my usual monthly bill over a four month period, since it was their incorrect charges, and their investigation that took so long.

Four months later after no contact from any representative of Vodacom, I contacted them to confirm that indeed the account had been brought up to date, as it should be according to my payments. This they confirmed. However, my account had been put in Pre-Legal status for bad payment.

I had to do all the running around once more, calling different call centres to have the status removed. A month passed before the pre-legal status was finally removed.

I then started enquiring about an upgrade on the line which was now long overdue. Numerous logged calls later, and a call to cancellations, today they inform me that my account has such a bad status that they cannot upgrade my line. They would require I make a cash payment of more than R10000 just to qualify for the upgrade.

I am beyond furious that something that is at its source Vodacom's fault has cost me so much time and effort, together with the humiliation I suffered in store each time I was told my account is in pre-legal status for non payment.
