Bad service from Vodacom

I received a call from Vodacom in February informing me that I was due for an upgrade. I informed Vodacom that I wanted to downgrade my contract and only wanted a contract with airtime and data, as I had my own device, I made it very clear that the amount that I wanted to pay had to be the same (or as close to my existing contract) . A few days later, Vodacom sent me a new handset and I contacted them immediate and asked them to collect the handset as this was not what I had discussed with them - Vodacom sent a courier company to collect this handset from me. In August I discovered that Vodacom was debiting my account monthly in the amount of R1,013. I went into a Vodacom shop in Westwood on 4th August to query this. Sylvester, the salesman who tried to help me informed me that I had two contracts, and that he couldn't help me with this query as the accounts department was closed over the weekend. I have phoned Vodacom on numerous occasions since them and this has not yet been sorted out yet and am totally frustrated – see below listed calls to and responses from Vodacom:- Call to Vodacom on 7th August & explained problem – reference number 1- ********** ********** (Spoke to Ntswhaki). Received SMS from Vodacom to say that this has been escalated and would take 7 to 14 working days. Then received SMS from Vodacom on 9th August informing me that the case for 1- ********** ********** was closed. Called Vodacom on 13th August – Reference No 1- ********** ********** {Spoke to Veronica} and explaining all of the above. Received SMS from Vodacom on 13th August informing me that my query was escalated and would take 7 to 14 days for approval and would be credited against Vodacom account. Received SMS from Vodacom on 15th August saying that case for 1- ********** ********** was closed and credit to be passed against my Vodacom Account. I phoned Vodacom again on 13th August telling them to please put refund into my bank account - Ref No 1- ********** ********** . I received a SMS from Vodacom on 29th August to say that case was closed. SMS from Vodacom on 11th September to say that case was closed for Ref No 1- ********** 658132 Phoned Vodacom on 7th September – Ref No 1- ********** ********** (spoke to Nana). I was told that the credit was approved and would be put offset against my Vodacom account. When I told her that I had been trying to get sorted out since beginning August and had told Vodacom more than once to put credit into my bank account. She said that if I wanted a credit put into my bank account they would need to log this and would take another 7 to 14 days to sort out. I received an sms from Vodacom saying that the query for Ref No 1- ********** ********** had been closed My last call to Vodacom on 17th September, asking when the credit would be put into my bank account, I was told that they would not debit my bank account on 3 October as my Vodacom would be credit. Ref No 1- ********** ********** . I have been paying R1,013 monthly since March, for 2 accounts, when it should have been around R500. Please note that I suffered a major stroke in April, spending 6 weeks in hospital and in rehab and then suffered another stroke in July. I am at my wits end as I don’t know what to do anymore. Please can you help me. My contact number is ********** 063. Kind regards Helen Callister
