Bad service even before starting the contract with Vodacom.

Hi all

First I would say don't use Vodacom their service and partner service is extremely bad they are unwilling to accommodate the customer its all about processes and following policies instead of accommodating new customers.

So first long story short I arranged for a new contract with Vodacom everything was approved but when RAM the courier company delivered the handset they didn't want to release it to me due to me not having a green book ID. I did have my drivers license and a certified copy of the green ID book but still this was not good enough. I then explained I can go collect my green ID book and it would take me 10 min but still not good enough. So now I am waiting for the next delivery day to receive my handset and to be honest I am very dissatisfied with the service from RAM and the manager for not being willing to accommodate the Vodacom customer they are more interested in following the internal procedures and policies than the customer. The other thing is other companies like FNB accepts your drivers license as proof of ID so what makes Vodacom and RAM so special that they cant accept your Driver license or a certified copy of your ID?

I also tried contacting Vodacom but it seems their lines are always busy and you cant get a hold of a person to speak to.

Must say this experience has left a very sour taste in my mouth.
