Bad service by Vodacom Manager at Century City
To cut my story short I am sad with vodacom staff attitude towards clients. My phone went for repairs in December, and came back with a different problem. I reported the problem on the 20th Dec before I travelled they wanted to take it in I couldn't my flight tickets were on the phone. Yesterday I went to chat to a manager and understand their standard operating procedures when the contract phone is not working properly. A technician went to a guy and later I was called to a repair counter with a lady whereas I took a ticket for experience. I then asked her if she is a manager she said no, and the guy next to her was instructing her to look at the computer he did not greet us, nor introduced himself so we thought he is a technician assisting the lady. I was upset with this because I wanted a manager to understand my frustration with a phone that I use for my major banking activities, keep confidential documents that I use anytime and anywhere when needed, use my phone for checking in anywhere and keep my flight tickets. My December was a nightmare without a functioning phone which shows no signal. Vodacom gives a vodafone which is not equivalent to your handset, a completely useless phone to conduct major activities. This manager I was looking for happened to be the guy who just set next to the lady and instructed her to look at the phone. He did not introduced himself as manager so that we can have a decent conversation about the status of my phone and that I have taken insurance for a reason not to get any inconvenience because I know the services I need from a phone. He was so cold and told us that he is a manager with a bad attitude, no eye contact and to whatever complaints I was sharing he chose to tell me that it is not their fault as Vodacom that the handset they gave me is now having faults. To me this means it my fault that I took a vodacom contract. All I want to say to vodacom is that Ashwell in Century City did not show any s**** that he is a manager he just disappointed me with his attitude and sense of not caring how I get inconvenienced by the contract phone. He just showed off to his team how to treat customers because he just ignored us and told me that the phone will take up to 7-14 working days to be repaired. He just dismissed my question about how many times must I report problems on this phone for them to take me seriously because this has caused a total showdown to everything I do. I need to do things manual now and I do not have time to stand in long ques. Wow what an experience and first impression last. I ported my number to vodacom because I did not have signal with MTN in my new office at work. I have been with MTN for many and never experienced any bad attitude to their staff like this. This is a disgrace where you see people do not relate to your frustration. After the paperwork I received an SMS that my phone will be ready after 2-3 working days so the 7-14 working I guess was his good way of frustrating me more. I am sure he is very proud of the victory that he has achieved yesterday. I will certainly report this to consumer protection. You buy a contract at your own risk at vodacom this is a disgrace.
