Bad Service and even worse attitude.

It is no suprize to me to see all the bad reviews about Vodacom on Hellopeter. I have been a Vodacom client for longer than 20 years and currently I have 5 contracts under my name on my Vodacom account. In this time I've had a few bad experiences, but could always sort of resolve it. This time however the service I have received has been absolutely shocking. I am from Durban and was due for an upgrade on 3 of my contracts. I was on my way to to Cape Town to visit my mom and decided seeing that I also needed to upgrade my Mom's phone, I was going to do all 3 my upgrades in Cape Town. I was assisted by the very helpfull and friendly guys at the DeVille Centre in Durbanville. My own phone I upgraded to a Samsung S22. BIG MISTAKE!. This phone has been such a disspointment to me. From the first day the battery did not last and the phone overheated.I thought maybe I just had to charge it a few times, but it actually got worse. So on day 6 after I got the phone ( it was still under the Out of Box Failure warrantee), I was back home and I took it to the Vodacom store in Kensington Centre , Durban North. I explained to them that I would take the phone off the battery in the morning and then at noon the battery would be on 50% without me even using the phone. The battery does not even last a day and the phone heats up. I told them that in an effort to try and save battery I have put the phone on some battery saving setting, but then the phone only charged up toe 85% and it did not help for the lifespan of the charged battery at all. . I explained the fault to them and said that I would like a new phone, because it is clearly an out of box failure. They then proceeded to book the phone in for an assesment. After about 2 weeks I had to go to the store to enquire about the phone just to find out that it has been lying there and no one contacted me. It came back with a note that the phone does charge all the way to 100%. and that the phone was therefore fine. That was not my issue. I knew it was probably the setting that made it charge only up to 85%. My issues were 1. The battery that did not last. 2. The phone heated up 3. The phone does not want to switch off. ( unless the battery runs dead) On the 15th of August I then proceeded to take my phone to Vodacom again for the same problems as in the beginning. I took it to the La Lucia Mall branch and Sofiso, the technician, did not look very eager to help me. He told me that I just have to remember that it is going to take very long and that they are first going to send the phone to the repair centre in Umhlanga. Today , a week later, I decided to go to the Umhlanga repair centre myself to find out if they had any feedback about the phone, because for basically a month now I have been paying for a phone which I did not have. Upon my arrival at the repair centre, I had to find out that the La Lucia branch has never even sent my phone. I went back to the La Lucia branch and was met with the worst possible attitude from Sofiso. He had no intention of trying to help me and just tried to put blaim on me saying that he did tell me I should rather take the phone to the repair centre myself. He even walked away while my husband was still talking to him. He then proceeded to hand my phone back to me. I am now still stuck with this Samsung S22 which I am paying a lot for every month, but is definitely not right. Being a business owner myself, I can understand that sometimes things go wrong, but the way the problem is handled is what distinguishes a good company from a bad company and if any of my employees ever handled a client the way I was handled, I would be very upset. This will definitely be the last time that I will renew my contracts with Vodacom. Vodacom, I strongly suggest that you take that customer policy about excellent service off the wall in your stores, because it is a joke.

I received a call from Vodacom apologizing, but not solving the problem. I still have the exact same problem. A brand new high end phone with a faulty battery that does not even last through the day. They still haven't come up with any solutions and I am still stuck with this phone that was an "out of box failure" and should have been replaced. Very disappointing!!
