Bad service
On 14.04.2023 I called Vodacom as I had an outstanding balance owing on my Fibre account. I wanted to cancel the Fibre account but was advised by the consultant at the time that R676.45 was to be paid first before the account can be cancelled. She also informed me that there is a 30 days’ notice, and I would therefore need still need to pay fibre for the following month. I agreed and confirmed that I would make immediate payment of the current outstanding and would like to forward the proof of payment thereafter, so that the cancellation process of the fibre could be sorted on this same day. The consultant provided me with two email addresses to forward the POP, and that she would also call me back to advise on the cancellation of the fibre. She provided her personal email address and said that she would not receive the POP from ***; this was the 2nd email address, as she did not have access to this address. Once she received the POP she then sent it to the cancellations department for my fibre account to be cancelled. The reference for this call was SR***. The consultant called me back to confirm that she had sent through a cancellation request on my behalf with the POP and informed me that I should receive an email from the cancellations department confirming the notice period. I then received an email from the cancellation department on 18.04.2023 from *** confirming my cancellation request and that my fibre will be cancelled as of 1 June 2023. I then called some time in early May 2023 to get other existing accounts cancelled with Vodacom, the consultant I spoke to confirms cancelling 2 other accounts excluding the fibre since this notice is already handed in. On 10 May I am informed by Vodacom that I have an outstanding of over R800, I ask how this is when I paid what was advised on 14 April 2023. I requested that call recordings be traced and detailed feedback be provided on the outstanding amount and that this issue be escalated. No response from Vodacom. 16 May a telephonic conversation with Vodacom, I am now R2000 some change outstanding which includes current and still to be billed. I’m informed that my fibre is not cancelled, and no notice has been given and that I am liable for payment, and I must contact the cancellations department. I get another email showing outstanding of R839 so I just pay it because I am tired of ging back and forth with them, and now I get no feedback. I am fighting a losing battle with Vodacom, and not getting any assistance. Come month end they are going to expect money from me for accounts I have cancelled, from this horrific company!
