Bad service

Hi Vodacom. I am Alvin, one of your 55 million customers. So since we've dealt with all the pleasantries, let me cut straight to the chase.

Let me mention that both my partner and I knew that her upgrade was due but she kept putting it off and was a bit hesitant to put it mildly.

But let's not argue about a woman's intuition, women always know best. Best to keep that in mind with your other customers.

In November 2019, I received a call from Maseko at the Vodacom Call Centre. Please note that this call was received during my business hours.

Anyway, my partner's phone was due for an upgrade and Maseko so kindly (yes, please note the sarcasm) reminded me of her data and airtime usage per month.

So as a surprise which I am starting to regret, I decided to do the upgrade without discussing it with my partner first. Yes, I am actually living to regret my decision.

With regards to my telephonic conversation with Maseko, we settled on a data and airtime contract. Exactly as it was before but only better because being the good spouse/customer that I am, I decided to add an extra 1 gig of data to her contract.

So after waiting for about a week, I finally received the new phone via courier even though it was promised to me a lot sooner.

My partner loves her new device. She actually didn't give me hard time about not discussing it with her first. Yes, my euphoria was short-lived as Vodacom so kindly decided to ***** me over.

Thursday, 2 January 2020 my partner mentioned that she didn't receive her data yet which is due on the 1st of every month. Then she said that last month (December) she noticed that she received data but no airtime.

She didn't mention it before because she was happy with the amount of data she was getting and had somehow thought that I changed her contract.

So you, yes you Vodacom. The number 1 network service provider decided not to issue my partner with any data for the month of January which neither myself nor my partner is happy about.

I spend over R3k per month on contracts which need I mention my partner is not happy about. And she quite frankly is urging me to cancel the whole happy lot because you (Vodacom) sent me a message stating that this issue has been resolved after I phoned your call center yesterday.

So after I spent an hour and a half today (Friday, 3 January 2020) on the phone with your consultants and being transferred to a different department each time, I'm not any closer to having this issue resolved.

My partner now has to purchase data separately and my bank account has already been debited for the amount I need to pay for my contracts each month.

To say that both my partner and I are upset about this and the way in which it's been dealt with is an understatement.

Yes, my tone is laced with sarcasm but it's a lot better than what you would have received if you had been dealing with my partner.

Vodacom, your service sucks.

Thanks for nothing
