Bad customer service at Vodacom Hatfield Plaza (Pretoria)

Dear madam/sir

On the 9th of June 2020 (Tuesday) I went to a Vodacom outlet in Hatfield Plaza (Pretoria) to port my number and a lady that assisted gave me the best service and asked me to come back with my ID and proof of residence to complete the port the following day, so I did. Then on the 10th of June 2020 (Wednesday) I came back to complete the port and a lady named Anna was assisting me. Throughout the process the service was good, I did not encounter any issues up until I had to pay, she told me that the sim-card will be R5. At the time I just came back from an ATM to withdraw money so I had a R100 note on me, she was so rude about it, she was scolding me like I’m a child that I brought a R100 note. I offered to swipe my bank card and she rudely said no. She called one of her colleagues and asked her for change and she continued being rude for the second time about it, passing comments about why didn’t I bring loose change. Then after she was done, I asked her if that’s all and I told her to never speak to me like that again as if I’m a child and she said “you’re the child, who’s the child here.” I moved from her working station cause I was furious and did not wanna cause a scene. I asked for the manager’s number (Didi) because he was not in store. I called him immediately and explained the situation. I’m so upset because I also work around the shopping center (Hatfield Plaza), in retail and I know how exactly the till works. You can never scold a customer for coming with a R200/R100 note, no matter the amount he/she is buying for. To top it off when I counted my money it was short with R10 and she didn’t even apologize for that even after it was replaced. I’m disappointed and upset and I hope Vodacom is going to train Anna on how to speak/treat people in general.

Sincerely Siphokazi. ***)
