Bad customer service

I cannot bring myself to utter how disgusted and crestfallen I am with the service you have provided since renewing a contract and opening a new contract with Vodacom a few months ago.

On the 27th December 2017 I discovered that the HUAWEI was not charging. I removed it from the charger and recharged again and it was still not charging. On the 28th December 2017 I booked it in at a Vodacom outlet in BETHLEHEM at Dihlabeng Mall for observation.

On the 3rd January 2017 I received a message stating that it has been received by Vodacom repairs Bethlehem. On the same day I received another message stating that Job number ********** 2 was currently being exchanged and are waiting the replacement device. On the 11th January 2017, I received another message stating that Job number ********** 2 had been received at the higher level Advanced repair Centre. On the 13th January 2017 another message stating Job number ********** 2 has been received at the Advance Repair Centre. On the same day 13th January 2017 the message said Job number ********** 2 is currently in the assessment process at the Advanced Repair Centre. Another message on the 16th January 2017 said that Job number ********** is currently in the assessment process ate Advanced Repair Centre.

I then received a call from a Vodacom employee stating that I had to pay an amount for the device to be repaired as a water trigger was found to have been triggered.

At no point ever was the device in water or was affected by water while it was in my possession. I want a detailed report regarding the time the device was in your possession. I will not pay for the repair of the device.

The South African Consumer Protection Act No 68 of 2008 signed on 24 April 2009 makes it an imp**** term of the contract that goods be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Practice my right to fair and honest dealing and the right to accountability by you Vodacom.

On the 23rd January 2017 after declining the estimate and the story of a water trigger, I received a message stating that the estimate for ********** 2 has been declined, the device will be returned not repaired. Another message dated 23rd January 2017 says job number ********** 2 is currently in the quality assessment process. With the last message on the 26th January 2017 stating that Job number ********** 2 is ready for collection at the Vodacom Collection Point.

I will not collect the phone until it is repaired or replaced by Vodacom. Suspend my account under this device until the matter has been resolved, because I will not pay for a device I don’t have and that I did not damage.

I request that you confirm that you will do this within the next 14 days.
