Bad communication from Vodacom Call Centre

On Black Friday Vodacom had a Black Friday deal to purchase a Samsung television. I placed and paid for the order and received a reference number via SMS. No Email was received confirming this order.

The SMS indicated that the delivery would take between 5-7 working days. During this time there was no communication received from Vodacom.

On the seventh day I called Vodacom they said that there was no stock and they would refund the money. I however told them that that I was prepared to wait for new stock, to which they rep**** that they do not know when they will get new stock. I then asked to speak to a manager/supervisor. The manager/supervisor was in a meeting and they said that they would call me back.

The next day I called to follow up cause i did not not return my call. The person who assisted me said that they are investigating and waiting on feedback and they would get back to me after 72 hours.

After 72 hours we called again and this time they said they are still waiting on feedback. Each time we called we asked to speak to a manager and each time the manager was not available.

All I would like is to get an answer on why it is taking so long to respond to a customer query.

Update on this query

On the 16th of December a Ronald or Rowland from the "Vodacom hello peter team" called me twice.

First time he called he just wanted to know that the issue was still pending. The second time he called he said that someone tried to call me to make delivery arrangements. However i did not receive any call or an sms or voice note saying that someone tried to contact me from Vodacom.
I was glad that he called and could actually provide me feedback.

On the 17th December again no contact from Vodacom

On the 18th December I called Vodacom using the 082 135 number to query the status of the delivery again. Paballo received the call, she could see that the depart i was suppose to be speaking to was the Vodacom loyalty department. She was very helpful and even gave me the direct contact number for the loyalty department before putting me through to Emma.

Emma works in the Loyalty program and could see my order and that it was escalated twice already. She said that she was going to escalate it a third time. She also said that escalations are done via email and she was not sure how long it was going to take them to get back me.

Payment was already made. what is the reason that it has to be escalated? Payment was made a transaction was mutually agreed upon.

I cant understand why it is so difficult for Vodacom to make delivery arrangements?

This issue was eventually resolved. Thanks to Emma from Vodacom's Loyalty department.
