Bad, bad behavior in branch of Vodacom
If the system allowed I would have given Vodacom a number in the minus. Last week I visited one of Vodacom's branches. I was helped by a trainee - no problem. I understand that he is still learning. While he struggled to log in I sat calmly and observed the coming in going in the branch. It was not busy and many of the servicing stations were empty except for 4. The trainee asked for help and a staff member came and uttered/mumbled a few words which I could not follow/understand. He ordered another staff member that occupied one of the service stations and disappeared to the back and stayed there. The second staff member helped a while and then wandered off to the back (it seems to be a very popular place) and wandered again towards us. Stayed a few moments when an elderly man entered and was told to sit at the service station of the "helping" staff member. The "helping" staff member ignored the man totally and wandered several times to and from the back. The service station at my back wat manned, but the staff member just got up and also went to the back. No help for the elderly man!!! The man sat patiently and I was so upset and sick to my stomach to see this kind of treatment to another human being. After a while he just got up and left. When the "helping" staff member eventually came back and saw the man left he was amazed! Can you belief that? If it was me I would have left much earlier. Now he could run, but the man disappeared. I chose to say nothing and rather tell the community what happened. To speak to that wandering lot wouldn't had made any difference anyway. Does Vodacom have a course in wandering? That branch got an extinction. Vodacom is a big company and seems untouchable, but I have no respect for the whole staff of that branch. I was helped, but my heart go out to that old man and the young trainee that has this example in training. My he be wise enough to distinguish between good and bad service. That branch does not offer a service to the public, the public must be thankful for the 'favor' they are getting.
