Back and forth and back and forth, no one knows

About 4 months ago my mother passed away, in which she had cell phone contract with Vodacom. I then decided to do the right thing. So I went to a vodacom branch in sandton and enquired as to how I can go about transferring the contract to my name. With the intention of notifying vodacom that the account holder is diseased but we can still fulfill the term of the contract.

The lady contacts the legal team and they advise us to what to.
The lady at the branch then sends in a copy of the death certificate as per their advice, and the process is started....so exciting....the legal department therefore then send me a long heart felt message about my mother and that I should go back to the branch to initiate the transfer, and that I also need to take certain documents with me.

i hand it all in at the branch and the lady then sends it to the legal team. A week goes past and I have heard nothing so I go back, the lady phones the legal team and they say they didn't get any documents, so the poor aunty sends the documents again to another email address with the same recipients - no one. After another week I go back in which we see a new bureaucratic mentality come forth, the legal team says I must speak to the acquisitions team and visa versa, so no one knows what's what. At the same time I get a SMS from vodacom saying that no transfer has been initiated and the line will be disconnected. So sending a death certificate automatically disconnects the line but as for the rest..... Your on you own.

so in hindsight I should have never notified them or even tried to do the right thing. When you phone the legal team you have to phone about 3 times, your line gets dropped., and you transferred back and forth. Today I sit with a disconnected line and a process that got me nothing, and no one can help at South Africa's biggest communication network, I think Vodacom should work on their own communication.
I do have reference numbers for the calls as well as email from individuals at the legal team which I suppose is just process - doesn't actually mean anything. Now I am also unable to get a contract with Vodacom due to my credit rating that is apparently to low to afford anything.

vodacom you rock..
